Additional Notes:
We collect here some class notes that have been used by various instructors in teaching from draft versions of the text over the past several years. Note that the text has gone through several drafts and so these notes may not align directly with the published version of the text. These notes are provided to assist instructors in preparing their own class notes, and are not designed to be a complete set of notes to use in a classroom. We have constructed the text so that it is readily understood by students with the assumed prior exposure to mathematics, so that it is certainly feasible to use the text in a "flipped" classroom format, in which students are expected to prepare for classes by reading material and carrying out exercises prior to each class meeting, and then peer discussions and problem sessions are used to enhance comprehension of the material for that session.
